Applications Developer

Description

  As a member of the Application development and Support Team, this individual will develop, design and implement applications using Java technologies with various frameworks.  This person would be a senior member of a development group performing design, development, implementation and unit testing as well as provide guidance to other members of the team. The person will be expected to interact with multiple development groups and cross functional departments during the course of a project. The person is expected to possess good insight into design patterns and designing applications using OOPS and Service Oriented Architectures.  

Desired Experience

Technical Qualification:

• Review application requirements and develop design specifications based on the requirements.

• Java/Java EE application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.

• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

• Interact with Project Management, offshore developers.

• Work with Quality Engineering to validate the correct implementation.

Experience/Skills

Required:

• 6 years of experience in Java development and Software Development.

• Rail Road experience a must.

      •    Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms 

      •    Object oriented analysis and design using common design patterns. 

• Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC)

• Profound insight of Java and J2EE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)

• Experienced in SQL Server design, queries and programming (Handling procedures).

• Ability to attend cross functional meetings, providing technical information and answering technical questions regarding platform specifications.

• Provide technical support to vendor/client developers.

• Excellent communication skills (including presentation, verbal, and writing).

• Demonstrated ability to work with other teams to resolve problems.

• Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and require minimal supervision.

Required Education: 

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering is required.
